Loudon, NH - Just as they did last weekend, the Amsoil NELCAR Legends Tour paid a visit to the New Hampshire Motor Speedway to compete with the Granite State Legends Cars. The drivers took to the quarter mile oval following a day of road course racing by some vintage automobiles, as well as the Moat Mountain Legends Series.

The lineups for the heat races were determined by practice speeds, with the NHMS regulars making up the first heat, and the NELCAR regulars in the second. Shaun Buffington in the 23, current NHMS points leader, took the first heat victory over Taylor Martin in the 20 and Tom Gray in the 18. The 38 of NELCAR points leader Mathew Bourgoine claimed the win in heat two, over the 70 of Tylar Braunschweig and the 96 of Wyatt Alexander.

With the fastest cars up front, the fans who came out were sure to see a great battle for the top spot. The action heated up quickly, as the two front row drivers, Bourgoine and Buffington, tangled on the first turn of the first lap, sending the 23 for a spin. The field was reset, and they tried the start again. This time, Bourgoine took over the lead and peddled as fast as he could to keep the dominant car of Buffington in his rear view. After several laps, Buffington was able to get under Bourgoine and take away the top spot.

Later in the race the caution flew again for a spin, when the 20 of Taylor Martin and Bourgoine made contact, sending Martin in the wrong direction.

As Buffington led, a handful of drivers battled hard for the remaining podium spots. At the checkers, it was Shaun Buffington taking a close win over Tom Gray, who rebounded nicely after last weeks wreck. Wyatt Alexander put together a strong run to land his #96 K&B Auto machine back on the podium, Taylor Martin charged hard after her spin to collect a 4th place finish, and Tylar Braunschweig rounded out the top 5 in the Wedgewood Motorsports 70 car.

The Tour heads back to Thursday Thunder for race number nine, can Reid Lanpher add to his win streak, can Bourgoine end his dry spell (of only three races) or will we get a new winner? Get to the track and see what happens! Just $4 to put yourself in the grandstands to watch some of the best mid week racing in the country!
