Thanks to the success of the U.S. Legend Cars International’s racing programs in the United States, the growth of our racing programs in international markets has been fantastic. International sales got their start in Canada and the United Kingdom in the mid 1990’s. Since that time, the growth of U.S. Legend Cars International markets has been exponential. At the present time our race cars are racing in over twenty countries around the world. The list of countries include: Australia, Brazil, Denmark, France, Finland, the Republic of Georgia, Italy, Morocco, Russia and South Africa. At the present time, we are actively developing new markets in Japan and other South American countries. In the majority of the international markets the cars race under the same rulebook that our racers in the United States must adhere to. There are a few markets that have additional requirements in order to comply with other international racing sanctioning bodies that the cars race with. These modifications include mufflers to adhere to noise standards, reverse gear systems, FIA seat and seat belt standards. The majority of these modifications are performed at the time the cars arrive in the country of destination.
The challenges that U.S. Legend Cars International and our International customers have to overcome primarily relate to language barriers and the differences in time zones. We find that communication via email is the best form of communication due to online language translators and the speed with which the written word can be conveyed. Once the cars are manufactured and readied for shipment by U.S. Legend Cars International, the cars and parts are loaded in either a 40 foot or 20 foot container at our facility in Harrisburg, NC for shipment. At the time of loading, some of the components on the cars such as fenders, nerf bars and running boards are disassembled from the car for ease in loading and space requirements in the shipping container. In some cases, rack systems are built inside the container so that the cars can be stacked on top of one another so that additional cars can be loaded in the container. The shipping costs for a container vary depending on the destination and the more cars that can be loaded in the container the less it costs the customer to ship each car. Typically, 10 Legend cars and an assortment of parts are loaded in a standard 40 foot container. Many of our international markets welcome racers from other parts of the globe to race with them and they have race cars available for rent. If you have an interest in racing abroad, contact U.S. Legend Cars International for more information.
