The World's Home of the Figure 8® is proud of our latest Speedrome champion, Chris Weddle. This local Indianapolis businessman captured his second straight Master class title in the Speedrome Legend division. He powered through a bevy of challengers to come out on top over newcomer Marc Anderson and veteran Doug Dugger. He wound up third overall in the Speedrome standings. Weddle is currently in the top five in INEX National Legend Masters points.

The early Speedrome point campaign was a mixed bag for the familiar #00 Legend. The Last Chance Wrecker Service racing driver had two DNF's along with three fifth place results in the initial five offerings. Late June brought the speed we have come to expect from Mr. Weddle, a feature runner-up on June 26th led to a pair of victories on July 3rd and July 17th. That stretch got him back near the front of the championship pack while racing head-to-head with business partner James Edsall III on the track for each trophy.

The final segment of events had Chris clawing his way from the back of the starting field each Friday evening. The remaining seven features saw him finish second twice and third once while almost never leaving the top ten postings. Weddle drops from his second place point's position in 2008 to third because of more outside commitments, but he was a feature factor on each appearance. The Speedrome would like to congratulate Chris Weddle on winning the 2009 Legend Masters Championship.

This year the celebration Banquet of 2009 will be at Jonathan Byrd's Cafeteria on Saturday November 21st. Fans, drivers, car owners, teams, sponsors, and track employees are all welcome to this special event. Our host will have a plethora of tasty items to choose from on the private banquet dinner line before the awards start circulating. Before, during, and after the awards presentation we will be treated to the music of the MereCats. This talented band has been a staple of the Speedrome banquet for several years with their great music. Advance adult tickets are just $30 with kid's 11 and under going for $15. These will cost $35 at the door that night, so get your today. Tickets are on sale now in the Speedrome Pit Office for this full evening of fun, food, music, and awards.
