The U.S. Legends Dirt Modified Car is the future of dirt track racing. This open wheel dirt style race car was designed to accommodate drivers of all experience levels. The L-Mod, as it's commonly referred to, is safe and easy to handle, a good choice for a first time dirt driver, but has enough horsepower to satisfy the expert drivers dedicated to the sport of dirt racing.

Bruton Smith, chairman and CEO of Speedway Motorsports, Inc., and Ray Evernham, CEO of Ray Evernham Enterprises, together, developed the L-Mod. Evernham oversaw the design, fabrication, and testing of the new chassis, engine, and body style for the car. The final product was released in the spring of 2011.

"The local tracks around the country are where the stars of the sport get their start, and we need to create the opportunities that inspire young racers today and hone their talents for tomorrow," said Smith. "Grassroots racing is a passion of mine and Rays, and through this partnership we can give back to our roots and support the future of grassroots racing."
